Teaching: "A Call to Compassion"
October 7 through November 25, 2008

Our society holds a striking number of similarities with the culture of the Middle Ages. The West was at war with the Muslim world. The Church was viewed skeptically and perceived as being full of hypocrites. Many Christians had compromised their faith and blended in with the culture around them. Then came a man named Francis who changed everything. Join us for "A Call to Compassion: Lessons from the Life of St. Francis".

Operation Christmas Child
coming November 18, 2008

Operation Christmas Child uses shoebox gifts to bring joy to children in over 120 countries. Since 1993, millions of shoeboxes, filled with toys, school supplies, hygiene items, candies, and an introduction to the story of Jesus is in their own language have been collected and delivered to children.

Shoeboxes and instructions will be distributed Tuesday, November 18, and collected the following Tuesday, November 25 at TNL. Questions, please contact Rachelle Miller at rmmt1039@hotmail.com.

Advent at TNL 2008

TNL on Wednesday , December 3rd
December 3, 2008
Please mark your calendars for the first Tuesday in December. Greenwood Community Church is using the facility so TNL is moving for one night from Tuesday, December 2 to Wednesday, December 3. It will be a unique service as we will be celebrating communion and the beginning of the Advent season together.

Advent Conspiracy
We believe Christmas can still change the world.  Advent Conspiracy is a movement of churches and individuals who are disillusioned by the consumeristic nature of Christmas and want a season with meaning and significance.  We want to worship fully, spend less, give more, and love all.  So join those of us from TNL who are part of the conspiracy.  Find out more about what you and your family can do to change Christmas at www.adventconspiracy.org.

Advent Series: Waiting on God
Each of us in some ways is hoping for God to speak, to respond, to show up.  One night, over 2000 years ago, God showed up in a baby born in a stable.  This Advent season we are again waiting.  We are waiting for God to respond to our hurts.  We are waiting on him to speak into our lives.  We are waiting on him to show up. The series begins on Wednesday, December 3.

Ski and Ride with TNL
Winter 2008-2009

Starting in December, we will have email groups that will help connect people from TNLC who want to meet each other to go ski/ride together. We will have one group for the Summit Pass resorts (Breck, Keystone, A-Basin) and another for the Rocky Mountain Super Pass resorts (Copper and Winter Park). We are looking for several additional people to help coordinate days on the mountain through an easy process involving our emails groups. If you have questions or interest in helping us coordinate these events, contact Community Pastor Brian Gray at (303) 422-3777 ext. 327.

Teaching Core Pastor Search
began September 2, 2008

The Next Level Church is currently seeking God’s direction in identifying and hiring our next Teaching Core Pastor. We are looking for someone who is a holistic follower of Jesus, a dynamic teacher, a collaborative leader, and someone we will enjoy life with.

On Tuesday, November 11th, join us for a brief update on our Teaching Core Pastor search process immediately following TNL in the chapel. We will also be discussing any of your questions on the future teaching pastor hire as well as general thoughts regarding the future direction of TNLC.

For more information go to our Teaching Core Pastor Search page.

Terpstra Family Update
posted August 26, 2008

Dear TNL,

My wife Amy and I are planning to move our family to Mozambique, Africa next year. Almost ten years ago, when we first came to TNL, we were burned out on church and frustrated with the idea of doing ministry vocationally.  I was still in seminary, but after two messy church experiences, the thought of graduating from school and working for a church didn’t sit well.  But God used TNL to reconnect us to Christian community and to ministry. Now, after nearly a decade of serving and leading around TNL God has again used this community to change the direction we are headed... For the rest of Dave's letter click here.

Anesthesia CD Release
September 9, 2008

TNL is proud to announce the debut project release of Anesthesia, “Wake Up.” This project is rather unique in that it is entirely instrumental and follows in the footsteps of post-rock groups The Album Leaf, Sigur Ros, and Explosions in the Sky in its musical and creative exploration.  Completely written, inspired, performed and produced by individuals in the community, we couldn't be more excited and supportive of what we believe is an appropriate creative response to what God has been up to at TNL.

More information available at www.anesthesiaproject.com.
You can purchase the CD at the Information Table on Tuesday nights or download it through our Amazon store.

Life Season Project
July-August 2008

As part of capturing this summer’s Life Season Project, we would love to create a visual, web-based representation of what and who the project represented. Whether you were able to attend a discussion night or not, we’d like you to help provide us with some potential visual media that we can combine with the list of verbal descriptors that each group is compiling. Help us create artforms that capture your place in life: pictures that represent your life season, photos you might go and capture, lines you’ve written in LSP journal reflections, music or songs that you listen to or have written that fit your place in life, book titles you are reading, art you are creating, etc. For submissions or questions, contact John Miller.
